Dr. Segwagwe is a highly accomplished veterinary surgeon, and senior academic with over thirty years of distinguished experience in veterinary medicine, human medical sciences education, and higher education leadership. He currently serves as Senior Lecturer in Anatomy in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Botswana, where he teaches anatomical sciences. He is also involved in clinical veterinary practice. 

He has a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree and Master of Veterinary Science degree. extensive experience teaching both veterinary and human medical sciences at university level in Botswana and Namibia. His expertise includes anatomy, physiology, reproductive biology, epidemiology, and animal health, with strong involvement in curriculum development, academic program review and academic quality assurance. In his formative years he worked as a state veterinarian, involved mainly in disease control. 

Dr. Segwagwe has an established research record with publications in peer reviewed journals, supervision of postgraduate students, participation in funded research, and international collaboration. He has extensive leadership and administrative experience in university committees, academic management, and institutional governance, and brings strong skills in strategic planning and professional service.
