Ms Matsheka is a legal professional with over 14 years of experience in the legal industry. She started her career as a litigation attorney with the Attorney General’s Chambers and is currently a Head of Legal Services at a local authority. Ms Matsheka is a seasoned scholar who has received training from both national and internationally renowned institutions in areas of law, leadership, governance, and business management. She holds an LLM from the University of Southwales (UK) majoring in Corporate and Commercial law. She also graduated summa cum laude on LLM in Governance from the Ohio Northern University (USA). This LLM has equipped her with the skills and knowledge on institutional policy analysis and international development. Her first legal degree is an LLB from the University of Botswana. She is well versed in areas of corporate governance, risk, legal and compliance management. Ms Matsheka is passionate about professional development and has since expanded her knowledge and expertise in areas such as Short-term Insurance with Institute of Insurance South Africa, and Strategic Business Management from the University of Cape Town. She is currently studying for the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa (CIS) Board Secretarial certification.
